Dart Games

Cricket (American):

  • Played with 2 to 4 players or teams of players.
  • The objective is to ‘own’ or ‘close’ the cricket numbers on the board, and achieve the highest point score. The player or team to do that first is the winner.
  • The Cricket numbers are 20, 19, 18, 17, 16, 15 and both the inner and outer bull.
  • Each player or team takes a turn throwing their three darts.
  • To close a number, the player or team must score three of a one cricket number. This can be done with three singles, a single and a double, or a triple.  This player or team now “owns” that number.
  • Once a player or team owns a number they can continue to score on this number each time they hit it until that number is closed out by the opposing player or team.
  • To close the bulls eye, the outer bull counts as a single, and the inner bull counts as a double.
  • Numbers can be hit, closed or owned in any order.
  • After a number is owned, if that number is hit again and is to be scored, the single counts as that number with the double and triple counting as 2 & 3 times that number.
  • The player or team that closes out all of the cricket numbers and has the most points is the winner of the game.

501 / (301):

  • Each team starts with 501 (301) points. The object is to work your way down to zero.
  • The first player throws three darts and adds up their score, that score is then subtracted from 501 (301) on the scoresheet/board.
  • The next player takes their turn and the play continues on with team members alternately playing and subtracting their scores.
  • A player must end the game on a double. If you have 16 points left, you need to hit the double 8 to go out.
  • Darts that miss the double ring and land on another number must be counted into your score. If you have 30 points, you need a double 15. If your dart lands in the single 15 section, you must subtract 15 points from your score.
  • If you hit a number larger than the number of points you have left, you have “busted” and you have no turning score to subtract.
  • If your turning score leaves you with 1 point, you have also busted. You cannot double out on a 1.
  • The first player to double out wins the game.
